John’s company Influence helps experts become influencers by creating content, bylines, etc. for large companies as well as small startups.

The Influence process is customized for each client’s needs and expectations, whether it’s full-content marketing or gaining credibility through getting some key placements.

Only you can make yourself an influencer. Having good content is only part of the equation. To be an influencer, you need to leverage your content by doing.

With influence comes responsibility. There will be times when you unintentionally upset other people, when you’re misunderstood and/or treated unfairly. Just do your due diligence, and don’t lose trust in people.

John and his cofounders got where they are today by focusing on creating value. One thing he wishes he had done differently: balance content creation with building connections.

New influencers fail because they’re not authentic.

If he was starting again from scratch, John would begin content triggering.

Writing a book is one thing, getting it to the right people is another.
